Ingenious Soil (Being Human)

November 16, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm UTC+0

Come and join us for an evening of ‘ingenious soil’, Latin, and art, during which we will be presenting the first screening of an artwork by Laura Hopes. Inspired by Virgil’s Georgics, the ancient Roman agricultural poem, the film ‘Marginalia’ has emerged from a collaboration between artist Laura Hopes, Katharine Earnshaw (Classics, University of Exeter), and Mary Quicke (Quicke’s Farm, Crediton).

Alongside the film we will be explaining the background to the work, as well as offering up some soil samples and ancient poetry for discussion.

From 19th until 23rd, film will be available to view 9am-5pm at the Co-Lab 3 King William St, Exeter EX4 6PD
